Players
Q: What ages can participate in Clearwater Little League?
A: We offer divisions for boys and girls ages 4–16. Programs are tailored to each age group to ensure a positive and developmental experience.
Q: How do I register my child?
A: Registration is available online. Visit the “Registration” section of our website for dates, required forms, and fee details.
Q: Are tryouts required for all players?
A: No, tryouts are only required for certain divisions, such as Majors, to ensure the safey of all players and balanced team placement.

A: Our league is proud to offer baseball, Challenger and softball programs for the young people in this community
Q: What divisions are offered?
A: Our divisions include Tee Ball, as well as Baseball and Softball Minors (A, AA), Majors (AAA, Majors), Intermediate, Juniors, and Seniors. CWLL’s Challenger Division for players with special needs involves players in both the Little and Senior division.
Q: What is the Challengers program?
A: The Challengers are a baseball program designed for children and adults with physical or developmental challenges, ensuring everyone can experience the joy of Little League.
Q: How are teams formed?
A: Teams are formed based on player evaluations, division requirements, and age groupings to create balanced and competitive teams.
Committees & Volunteering
Q: Who can serve on a CWLL Board Committee?
A: General Members, player families, and community volunteers can serve on committees, along with CWLL Directors.
Q: Why is there more than one (1) Director on each committee?
A: CWLL’s constitution ensures multiple Directors provide guidance and inputs, working alongside General Members and volunteers to ensure balanced decision-making.
Q: What’s the optimal size of CWLL board committees?
A: CWLL follows LLI recommendations and constitutional guidelines, with committees ranging from three members to larger groups depending on the scope of work.
Q: Can General Members who serve on CWLL Board Committees be invited to vote in a Board of Directors meeting?
A: General Members, per CWLL’s constitution, if invited to a Board meeting, are non-voting attendees.
Q: Can a Director assign a General Member to attend and vote on issues discussed in a Board of Directors meeting?
A: A General Member may vote on behalf of a Director as a designated proxy if the vote is planned on the agenda in advance.

Q: What’s the voting board member ratio of managers/coaches to team parents, umpires, and other volunteers?
A: LLI policy states that managers and coaches should comprise no more than 49% of the voting Directors. Learn more.
Q: How can CWLL engage a local business executive, former Little League player turned pro, donor, or other upstanding citizen to join our Board of Directors?
A: CWLL’s constitution allows for such individuals to serve as ceremonial (non-voting) Directors, referred to as Members-at-Large.
Q: What’s the optimal size of CWLL’s Board of Directors?
A: CWLL follows LLI recommendations and constitutional guidelines. LLI requires a minimum of seven (7) Directors, and the standing Board evaluates the needs for the following year to determine the maximum size.
